Calling all avid Xbox & Playstation gamers out there, Electronic Arts (EA) has recently announced that it has entered into an agreement with Hothead Games to bring Ron Gilbert’s upcoming game DeathSpank to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live later this year. For those of you who don’t know who Rob Gilbert is, he’s a veteran from LucasArts who previously brought 2 other games - Maniac Mansion & The Secret of Monkey Island – to the gaming world.
DeathSpank can be described as a game that combines the combat features of games like Diablo together with good humor & lots of incredible animations. The game puts players in the role of DeathSpank who is described as the Hero to the Downtrodden, Vanquisher of Evil, and Defender of Justice. DeathSpank is wandering around the world looking for “The Artifact” & players will need to guide DeathSpank through battling a tyrant, rescuing some Orphans, and solving the mystery of the legendary Thongs of Virtue. And along the way there’s a chance for players to collect lots of loot, use a variety of weapons, solve many challenging puzzles, engage in witty dialogue & wreak plenty of havoc.
DeathSpank is expected to be released on the Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network sometime in late 2010, but at the moment EA has not made any announcements on its actual date of release or its selling price. So stay tuned for further updates on this latest cool game over the next few months….
